Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Ravens to a D-.

The Ravens put a flag in the ground for Solomon Byrd, 34 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Abrams-Draine pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
In pick 30 they get an anchor for the offensive line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick39 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
No edge and no loss on Xavier Legette in No. 39; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
Pick62 Rnd2 Bralen Trice
A straight-up fair deal on Bralen Trice at slot 62, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick65 Rnd3 Kiran Amegadjie
Kiran Amegadjie at the 65th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick93 Rnd3 Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at the 93rd pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick104 Rnd4 Kris Abrams-Draine
Kris Abrams-Draine at Round 4, Pick 4 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick113 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams at slot 113 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick130 Rnd4 Mason McCormick
Mason McCormick at No. 130 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick139 Rnd5 Isaac Guerendo
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Isaac Guerendo at the 139th pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick162 Rnd5 Kalen King
Taking Kalen King in pick No. 162 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick165 Rnd5 Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey slipping to the Round 5 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick218 Rnd6 Jaden Crumedy
Jaden Crumedy in pick 218 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick226 Rnd7 Evan Williams
Evan Williams at the 226th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick228 Rnd7 Solomon Byrd
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Solomon Byrd. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick250 Rnd7 Nathan Thomas
Somehow Nathan Thomas was still sitting there in the Round 7 slot, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
