Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall D+
ValueC NeedB TradesF FutureC
The Ravens lost the trade table, and the D+ tells the story.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Phillip Webb at No. 243 is 83 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Put together, it is a D+.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Pierce value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick38 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker slipping to pick 38 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick39 Rnd2 Darien Porter
A big swing on Darien Porter at the 39th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick47 Rnd2 Donovan Ezeiruaku
Donovan Ezeiruaku at Round 2, Pick 15 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick69 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba at slot 69 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick78 Rnd3 Savion Williams
Savion Williams at the Round 3 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick129 Rnd4 Emery Jones Jr.
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 129 with a little surplus value in Emery Jones Jr.. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick133 Rnd4 Brashard Smith
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Brashard Smith in No. 133, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick136 Rnd4 Hollin Pierce
Hollin Pierce in the 136th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick176 Rnd5 Oronde Gadsden II
A premium they did not need to pay, Oronde Gadsden II a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick183 Rnd6 KeAndre Lambert-Smith
KeAndre Lambert-Smith in pick 183 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick203 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins in the 203rd pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick210 Rnd6 CJ West
By-the-book stuff, CJ West at pick No. 210 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick212 Rnd6 Teddye Buchanan
Teddye Buchanan in the Round 6 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick233 Rnd7 Gino Garcia
They reached into another round for Gino Garcia, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick243 Rnd7 Phillip Webb
Phillip Webb at No. 243 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
