You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Bears did exactly that with Jordan White in pick No. 148. A weekend of give and take that grades a C+.

The linebacker spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

So much rides on Cashius Howell that the real verdict is a season or two away.
