The Patriots treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the 220th overall pick on Hayden Conner a full 47 spots early. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. However the rest shakes out, Starks at that price is a win they earned.

They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
