The 49ers cashed the board's mistake on Strong: D.

The 49ers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Dorian Strong fell into the Round 6 slot. Put together, it is a D.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
