Somebody in pick No. 147 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The 49ers sat still while Billy Bowman Jr., the No. 111 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

Slater has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
