Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Giants finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B-.

Nobody else had Phillip Webb anywhere near Round 7, Pick 3. The Giants did, by 126 spots, and that gap is the whole story. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

The whole projection now runs through Cam Ward; hit there and everything else looks smarter. That Bech pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up.

On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In Round 1, Pick 3 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Walter Nolen
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Walter Nolen at No. 34. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick65 Rnd3 Cameron Williams
A straight-up fair deal on Cameron Williams at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick99 Rnd3 Miles Frazier
They went early on Miles Frazier in pick 99, and the value did not follow. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick105 Rnd4 Jack Bech
Jack Bech at pick No. 105 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick154 Rnd5 Damien Martinez
They paid sticker price for Damien Martinez in slot 154, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick219 Rnd7 Phillip Webb
Phillip Webb at pick 219 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick246 Rnd7 LaJohntay Wester
They took LaJohntay Wester at par in pick No. 246, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
