More right than wrong for the Ravens, and a B- to prove it.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jalon Daniels got past him. The Ravens do not have to explain a thing at pick 192.

They will need Payne Jr. to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Tre Harris
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a matchup problem out wide, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick64 Rnd2 Ashton Gillotte
Circle this one: Ashton Gillotte at the Round 2 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick96 Rnd3 Jonah Monheim
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jonah Monheim in Round 3, Pick 32. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick128 Rnd4 Xavier Truss
A big swing on Xavier Truss at the 128th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick160 Rnd5 Aubrey Burks
Aubrey Burks at No. 160 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick192 Rnd6 Jalon Daniels
The board fumbled Jalon Daniels all the way to slot 192, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick224 Rnd7 Damon Payne Jr.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Damon Payne Jr. well ahead of where he belonged. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
