The Bears let Higgins fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

Somebody in pick No. 233 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bears sat still while Jay Higgins, the No. 121 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

Burks has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
