Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA FutureA+
The Bears let Kiser fall into their laps, and walked away with a A-.

Somebody in the Round 7 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bears sat still while Jack Kiser, the No. 189 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Nash has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

Bottom line, with Kenneth Grant leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In pick 24 they get a load in the middle. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick39 Rnd2 Tate Ratledge
The board had Tate Ratledge higher than Round 2, Pick 7, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It fills a real need, too.
Pick41 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jihaad Campbell in pick No. 41. The roster fit checks out.
Pick72 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
They will replay Xavier Watts at the 72nd pick for years; that is how good the value is. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick138 Rnd5 Jake Majors
Steal is underselling it; Jake Majors at the 138th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick147 Rnd5 Raheim Sanders
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Raheim Sanders. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick193 Rnd6 Elijah Arroyo
A slide stopped in slot 193, with Elijah Arroyo worth more than the price. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick233 Rnd7 Nick Nash
They paid up for Nick Nash at the Round 7 slot when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick240 Rnd7 Jack Kiser
You do not let a linebacker like Jack Kiser reach pick 240 and blink. They did not. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
