The war room fell hard for JJ Pegues, and it showed at the Round 5 slot: 31 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. However the rest shakes out, Winston Jr. at that price is a win they earned.

Robert Spillane gives the group a proven body among the projects.
