Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Ravens drew a line under the quarterback search with Maye: D-.

The Ravens lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.

They have staked the next five years on Drake Maye, which is the only story that really matters here. They banked enough surplus on Davis to cover a lot of smaller sins. The Ravens paired the rookies with proven help, Montez Sweat leading the way.

Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Drake Maye
In pick 4 they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
Pick10 Rnd1 Jared Verse
In the 10th overall pick they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick27 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
In No. 27 they get a building block for the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 Troy Franklin
A tidy little value on Troy Franklin in Round 2, Pick 1, a step better than break-even. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick37 Rnd2 Jonathon Brooks
A straight-up fair deal on Jonathon Brooks at pick No. 37, value and slot in agreement. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick72 Rnd3 Patrick Paul
They did well to land Patrick Paul in slot 72, just ahead of his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick114 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter slid further than he should have, and the Round 4 slot is lovely value for the offensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick131 Rnd4 Tyler Davis
Value with a capital V on Tyler Davis in the 131st pick, a genuine coup. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick134 Rnd4 Josh Newton
They read the board right and Josh Newton was the payoff at the 134th pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick164 Rnd5 AJ Barner
AJ Barner at pick 164 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick187 Rnd6 Dwight McGlothern
Dwight McGlothern slipping to No. 187 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick226 Rnd7 Frank Gore Jr.
Frank Gore Jr. in Round 7, Pick 6 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick248 Rnd7 Trevin Wallace
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Trevin Wallace at the Round 7 slot is the proof. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
