The move everyone will second-guess came early. The 49ers reached some 47 spots for Akheem Mesidor, and value like that does not grow back.

For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
