Draft Grade — Packers
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Packers got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D-.

Nobody else had Ty'Ron Hopper anywhere near the 126th overall pick. The Packers did, by 55 spots, and that gap is the whole story. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The Packers indulged a want in Hopper while a need in interior defensive lineman stayed open.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Reiman falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
In pick No. 25 they get a cornerstone up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 Chop Robinson
Chop Robinson slid further than he should have, and the 35th pick is lovely value for the edge rusher. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick41 Rnd2 Adonai Mitchell
Nice patience on Adonai Mitchell, who had no business lasting to Round 2, Pick 9. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick58 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson in the 58th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick88 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at pick 88 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick91 Rnd3 Christian Mahogany
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Christian Mahogany. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick112 Rnd4 Elijah Jones
No edge and no loss on Elijah Jones in the 112th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick126 Rnd4 Ty'Ron Hopper
A want over a need in the 126th pick: Ty'Ron Hopper adds a linebacker while interior defensive lineman keeps waiting.
Pick169 Rnd5 Jordan Travis
By-the-book stuff, Jordan Travis at Round 5, Pick 33 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick202 Rnd6 Kimani Vidal
They talked themselves into Kimani Vidal at the Round 6 slot, and the board did not agree. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick219 Rnd6 Tip Reiman
Somehow Tip Reiman was still sitting there in No. 219, and they pounced on premier tight end value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick245 Rnd7 Trevin Wallace
Trevin Wallace at pick 245 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick255 Rnd7 Omar Brown
Omar Brown in slot 255 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
