FutureB
The Raiders answered their biggest question with Sanders. Grade: B+. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Raiders took Shilo Sanders at the 222nd overall pick, roughly 69 spots before his name belonged. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.
The whole projection now runs through Shedeur Sanders; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
However the rest shakes out, Henderson at that price is a win they earned.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Shedeur Sanders
In No. 15 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick37
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
They paid sticker price for Jihaad Campbell in the 37th pick, and that is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick68
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
The board had TreVeyon Henderson higher than pick 68, and the running back fell to them anyway. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick108
Rnd4
Zy Alexander
A straight-up fair deal on Zy Alexander at pick No. 108, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick143
Rnd5
Malachi Moore
No drama and no debate, Malachi Moore went about where he belonged in the 143rd overall pick. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick180
Rnd6
Connor Colby
Connor Colby in the Round 6 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick213
Rnd6
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson at the 213th overall pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick215
Rnd6
Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins at the Round 6 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick222
Rnd7
Shilo Sanders
Shilo Sanders at No. 222 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
