The one they had to fix is still broken. The Packers left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.
The Melton pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector. A real need, handled.
They paid sticker price for Tyler Nubin in the 41st overall pick, and that is fine. A minor itch, scratched.
Payton Wilson at Round 2, Pick 26 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Max Melton at No. 88 is the proof. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Nothing to complain about; Trey Benson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
McKinnley Jackson in pick 126 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
