You build a draft on nights like this. Keon Coleman had no business being available in No. 53, and the Texans did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It nets out a thoroughly average C.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. Reaching for Wilson left real value on the table behind him. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.
Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.
If Chop Robinson and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid up for Chop Robinson at pick 27 when waiting would have done the job. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No edge and no loss on Leonard Taylor III in pick No. 28; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Keon Coleman in slot 53 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Johnny Wilson in Round 2, Pick 28 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
