The Jets bet big and early on Adam Randall, 34 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. With edge rusher and interior defensive lineman unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

They banked enough surplus on Campbell to cover a lot of smaller sins.

In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.
