Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Dolphins: B-.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Drew Allar; the Dolphins did not wait, grabbing him 56 spots ahead at pick 95. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Getting Singleton where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Francis Mauigoa
They paid sticker price for Francis Mauigoa in pick No. 4, and that is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick37 Rnd2 Elijah Sarratt
Elijah Sarratt in the 37th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick68 Rnd3 Mikail Kamara
A big swing on Mikail Kamara at No. 68, well ahead of any board in the building. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick75 Rnd3 D'Angelo Ponds
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for D'Angelo Ponds. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick95 Rnd3 Drew Allar
Drew Allar at Round 3, Pick 31 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick105 Rnd4 Nicholas Singleton
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Nicholas Singleton in the Round 4 slot. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick144 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in slot 144 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick218 Rnd7 Roderick Kearney
They paid a round early for Roderick Kearney in the 218th pick, more than the board wanted. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
