The Jacob Rodriguez selection is the head-turner. The Cowboys reached 41 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. That Robinson pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
