Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Sellers in the fold, and a B- for the Steelers.

Start where it matters. The Steelers took LaNorris Sellers to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

The Moore reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. They banked enough surplus on Ramsey to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 LaNorris Sellers
In Round 1, Pick 14 they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick46 Rnd2 Gennings Dunker
They liked Gennings Dunker enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 46. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick73 Rnd3 Kamari Ramsey
Kamari Ramsey at pick No. 73 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick78 Rnd3 Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles at No. 78 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick98 Rnd3 Jaden Greathouse
A reach for Jaden Greathouse in pick 98; a little patience would have been rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick114 Rnd4 John Mateer
They left a pile of value on the table to take John Mateer this early at the 114th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick133 Rnd4 Terrance Carter
They paid sticker price for Terrance Carter in the 133rd overall pick, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick153 Rnd5 Kage Casey
The board had Kage Casey higher than the Round 5 slot, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick176 Rnd5 Shamar Easter
They jumped the gun on Shamar Easter, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick192 Rnd6 Trey Moore
Trey Moore at pick 192 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick211 Rnd6 Marquis Johnson
Marquis Johnson at slot 211 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
