The Dominic Zvada pick is the one that will follow the 49ers into the fall. They took him 65 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Spending an early pick on cornerback with quarterback open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They banked enough surplus on Greathouse to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
