Thirty-one other rooms let Connor Lew slide, and the 49ers were the ones holding the card at pick No. 92. Highway robbery. The bottom line is a respectable B.

The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The skill positions did well by the weekend.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

In No. 27 they get a mismatch in the passing game at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.

Pick58 Rnd2 Michael Taaffe

Michael Taaffe in pick No. 58 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A minor need, but a need all the same.

Pick92 Rnd3 Connor Lew

A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Connor Lew in pick 92, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
