You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The 49ers did exactly that with Alex Birchmeier in the Round 7 slot. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A-.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. The Bernard pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
