There is conviction, and then there is this. The Colts took Will Lee III a full 70 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. For now it grades a C+, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Klare. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

The Colts indulged a want in Davis while a need in quarterback, running back and other spots stayed open. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

If Will Lee III and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
