There is conviction, and then there is this. The Patriots took Jaylen Harrell a full 51 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Landing Johnson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
