There is conviction, and then there is this. The Bills took Vernon Broughton a full 31 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
