The Cowboys did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B+. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Cowboys spent No. 129 on Tyler Baron, a name most had 33 spots down the list. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
Landing Pierce that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
