The Bears torched the value chart for Braylan Shelby, taking him 50 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

The Reese steal is the beam this whole class leans on. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
