Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the 49ers were there to profit. Sam Leavitt, the No. 82 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 4, Pick 39. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
