Draft Grade — Cardinals

The Cardinals let Golday fall and pounced. Final grade: B.

When a board-topper like Jake Golday slides to the 104th overall pick, you do not overthink it, and the Cardinals did not.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Ramsey has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Francis Mauigoa
In No. 3 they get a building block for the line at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Colton Hood
The board had Colton Hood higher than pick 34, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick65 Rnd3 Kamari Ramsey
They liked Kamari Ramsey enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 65. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick104 Rnd4 Jake Golday
Jake Golday at Round 4, Pick 4 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick143 Rnd5 Skyler Gill-Howard
By-the-book stuff, Skyler Gill-Howard at the 143rd pick squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick183 Rnd6 DJ Campbell
DJ Campbell in the Round 6 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick217 Rnd7 Dane Key
Dane Key at the 217th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
