Draft Grade — Bears

A solid, sensible weekend for the Bears: B. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Bears walked out of the weekend still thin at interior defensive lineman, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
Reaching for Young left real value on the table behind him. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In pick No. 16 they get a lead back with juice. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles at slot 50 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick81
Rnd3
Zion Young
They liked Zion Young enough to skip the value, taking him in the 81st overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
