Somewhere a general manager is explaining how R.J. Mickens got past him. The Cowboys do not have to explain a thing at pick 247. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The Smith pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
