Quarterback settled, Williams in the fold, and a B for the Patriots.

Start where it matters. The Patriots took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Barton falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In the 2nd overall pick they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Graham Barton
Graham Barton in No. 34 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick66 Rnd3 Malachi Corley
Malachi Corley at pick No. 66 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
