A franchise passer in Chambliss headlines a F weekend for the Rams. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Trinidad Chambliss at the Round 1 slot is 78 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. A F, plain and simple.
Whatever Trinidad Chambliss becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. With interior defensive lineman and edge rusher unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them.
Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
In short, a weekend the front office will want to forget in a hurry.
