Draft Grade — Raiders

A franchise passer in Mendoza headlines a B- weekend for the Raiders. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Raiders spent their marquee pick on Fernando Mendoza, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Fernando Mendoza
In the 1st overall pick they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
Pick14
Rnd1
Jermod McCoy
In the Round 1 slot they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick36
Rnd2
Anthony Hill Jr.
They paid sticker price for Anthony Hill Jr. in pick No. 36, and that is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick67
Rnd3
Jadarian Price
By-the-book stuff, Jadarian Price at pick 67 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
