McCarthy is the Patriots' new face under center. Grade: B+.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Patriots spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

The Clark value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
