Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureC-
The 49ers turned the phones into found money: B.

Whoever sat across the table from the 49ers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.

They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Bell steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Caleb Lomu
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a long-term starter on the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick45 Rnd2 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
A straight-up fair deal on Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at the 45th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick62 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Nice patience on Jake Slaughter, who had no business lasting to the Round 2 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick93 Rnd3 Skyler Bell
Skyler Bell slid further than he should have, and No. 93 is lovely value for the wide receiver. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick115 Rnd4 Bryce Lance
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Bryce Lance. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick127 Rnd4 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun at pick No. 127 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick139 Rnd4 Chris McClellan
They did well to land Chris McClellan in slot 139, just ahead of his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
