The Giants bled value on every deal, hence the C-. There is reaching, and then there is Isaiah Jatta at No. 192. The Giants jumped the board by 54 and dared it to prove them wrong.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Landing Hurst that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They left with safety solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Caleb Downs
In the 5th overall pick they get a two-high chess piece. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick30
Rnd1
Chris Brazzell II
In pick No. 30 they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick62
Rnd2
A.J. Haulcy
A tidy bit of business in pick 62, where A.J. Haulcy graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick145
Rnd5
Ar'maj Reed-Adams
Nice patience on Ar'maj Reed-Adams, who had no business lasting to Round 5, Pick 5. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick186
Rnd6
Kaleb Elarms-Orr
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kaleb Elarms-Orr in the 186th pick. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick192
Rnd6
Isaiah Jatta
Isaiah Jatta in slot 192 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick193
Rnd6
Ted Hurst
Ted Hurst in No. 193 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
