There was a run on nobody at that position, and the 49ers started one anyway for Princewill Umanmielen, 41 picks ahead of schedule. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
