Larceny in the 94th overall pick lands the 49ers a B, Taaffe and all.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the 49ers were there to profit. Michael Taaffe, the No. 46 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 3, Pick 30. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

If Hunter pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. With quarterback unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
