Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB- TradesC- FutureB+
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Browns and Hurst: B-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Ted Hurst got past him. The Browns do not have to explain a thing at the Round 6 slot. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In slot 6 they get a green-dot type in the middle at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick24 Rnd1 Olaivavega Ioane
In the Round 1 slot they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39 Rnd2 Brandon Cisse
Good price on Brandon Cisse in pick 39, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick107 Rnd4 Chandler Rivers
Taking Chandler Rivers in pick No. 107 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick139 Rnd5 Logan Jones
Logan Jones in No. 139 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick144 Rnd5 Kage Casey
A straight-up fair deal on Kage Casey at Round 5, Pick 6, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
Pick147 Rnd5 Kaytron Allen
Kaytron Allen slipping to the 147th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick204 Rnd6 Ted Hurst
Ted Hurst in the 204th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick248 Rnd7 Jalon Daniels
A slide stopped in slot 248, with Jalon Daniels worth more than the price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
