Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall

Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Patriots. Call it larceny. Chris Bell sat on the board until the Round 2 slot, and the Patriots did not need to be asked twice. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
The Dunker reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Gennings Dunker
In the 31st pick they get a long-term starter on the line, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
Pick63
Rnd2
Chris Bell
Circle this one: Chris Bell at the 63rd overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
