The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The 49ers watched Michael Taaffe slide 40 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. Every board in the league had Roberts lower, and that gap is the story. They will answer for taking safety early while tight end went begging.

That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
