Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Packers came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Bullock pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback, wide receiver and other spots. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Allen has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a centerfielder for the defense. Need was not the driver here.
In the 26th pick they get a potential shutdown corner, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They took Kris Jenkins at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A surprising call. With quarterback, wide receiver and other spots still to address, they spent Round 2, Pick 12 on Calen Bullock, a safety they were not short of.
Ben Sinnott in No. 125 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A reach for Braelon Allen in pick No. 135; a little patience would have been rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
J.J. Weaver at slot 203 is a conviction pick that outran the value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Daequan Hardy in pick 217 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Chad Lindberg at No. 246 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
