Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

NeedA-
TradesB+
FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Bears. The one they had to fix is still broken. The Bears left cornerback untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Styles at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
LT Overton
In pick No. 20 they get a disruptor off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick48
Rnd2
Nicholas Singleton
A quiet steal in No. 48: Nicholas Singleton for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick64
Rnd2
Ar'maj Reed-Adams
Fair-plus on Ar'maj Reed-Adams, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick80
Rnd3
Tim Keenan III
Tim Keenan III in the 80th pick is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick96
Rnd3
Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles slid further than he should have, and slot 96 is lovely value for the linebacker. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick126
Rnd4
Bray Hubbard
They did well to land Bray Hubbard in the Round 4 slot, just ahead of his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
