The Patriots left with their quarterback, and a B to match.

Start where it matters. The Patriots took Drake Maye to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. No fireworks, but a solid B.

However the rest shakes out, Smith at that price is a win they earned. The phones were where this weekend was really won.

They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it. The Stover pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at safety, running back and other spots.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
