The 49ers put a flag in the ground for Jalen Thompson, 49 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Kilgore. The 49ers indulged a want in Kilgore while a need in running back, quarterback and other spots stayed open.

That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
