The phones sank the 49ers this weekend: D-.

Nobody else had Mikail Kamara anywhere near pick No. 61. The 49ers did, by 54 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

The Wheatley pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback still on the board. Landing Wheatley that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
