There is reaching, and then there is Chase Bisontis at the Round 3 slot. The 49ers jumped the board by 36 and dared it to prove them wrong. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Landing Endries that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.

In pick 26 they get protection for the quarterback, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.

Nice patience on Jonah Coleman, who had no business lasting to the Round 2 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

This one needs a full-page explanation: Chase Bisontis in the 91st overall pick, miles early. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.

Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jack Endries at Round 4, Pick 26 is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
